5 useful steps for winter skincare!
The arrival of lower temperatures certainly makes us think of those ideal moments to enjoy a nice hot chocolate immersed in our favorite throw and possibly in front of the heater or fireplace! But did you know that, although this season is so white, cold and magical, it's not quite the same for our skin? The consequences of cold temperatures and the impact of internal heating trigger severe stress on the skin, making it dry, sometimes itchy and dull. Which means that the time has come to reevaluate our skincare routine and find the right allies for healthy, glowing and well-hydrated skin!
Where do we start?
Cleansing & Exfoliation
Cleansing our face is certainly the first fundamental step, whether in the morning with natural skin or in the evening to remove makeup, we must never skip the step of cleansing! Whatever your skin type, my advice is always to opt for something not extremely aggressive, so go with the soap-free cleansing and cleansing balms! This will help you keep your skin's natural barrier healthy, thus avoiding making it even drier!
The second best cleansing ally? The exfoliant! Its task is to eliminate all dead skin cells that can flake and cause further dryness of the skin, thus helping the absorption of the products in the subsequent steps. Here too, I always recommend opting for a delicate and non-irritating scrub to be performed at least ½ times a week.
Face masks
Surely you already have face masks for blackheads, imperfections and so on, but in the case of the winter season the safest and most useful choice for your skin is that of a hydrating mask! There are so many on the market, both in cream and fabric, the feeling of your skin after one of these masks will be sensational!
l'SPF (yes, even in winter!)
If you thought that sunscreen is only necessary in summer, well, not at all! Sunscreen is a must-have all year round (even on gloomy days!) UV rays are always harmful to the skin, so consider purchasing a good SPF cream, I assure you that your skin will thank you!
Hydration:
How good is the fresh feeling of moisturizers? Here is the essential step in your routine! Moisturizing your skin is just as important as the previous steps, especially in winter when our skin tends to be drier than ever. Opt for richmoisturizers in the case of extremely dry skin, or if you have combination/normal skin, look for a gel moisturizer. Another good ally can be a hyaluronic acid serum, its main purpose is to hydrate and protect the tissues, therefore excellent to apply before the moisturizing cream to ensure maximum hydration!
Drink lots of water!
For many this could very well be the most difficult step! But keeping hydrated by drinking the right amount of water daily is really important for both our body and our skin. If drinking plain water doesn't appeal to you, opt for herbal teas, tea or flavored water, you will immediately notice all the benefits of good, healthy hydration !
SOS : What about the rest of the body?
Here too the routine doesn't have to be that different, certainly the steps are minor and thesuper hydrating creams + exfoliant combo will be your hands' best friends (or any other part of the body) extremely dry!
