Christmas Outfit 2025: a bit of inspiration for the holidays
Christmas Outfit 2025: do you want to dress in trend or simply feel like yourself, pampered by your outfit as well as by the atmosphere of the dinners and parties? Why not a bit of both?
Christmas Outfit with something you already have in your wardrobe: a red top
You won’t find “pure” red in the AI25 color palette, so you can either consider a more seasonal red (in the tones of wine, to be clear) or, if you are fond of Santa Claus’s color, dust off something from previous years and pair it with a new piece to still feel like you’re wearing something different.
If you want to give a traditional touch to your look, then take out even a simple red turtleneck and give it a twist with a pleated miniskirt and/or with a check print, also pairing a blazer and a high boot if you want to go in a cozy chic direction. Likewise, with a straight trouser in lightweight wool, or in any case a substantial fabric, in shades of gray or black, for a classic but always elegant outfit. Accessorize with gold details: gold always feels more “Christmas” than silver.
On-trend combinations: your fashionable Christmas outfits
What will you find in stores this year? Knitwear, crystals, sequins, satin, and velvet.
Velvet, like chenille, is somewhat a seasonal classic: easy to wear in a jacket and trouser suit to which you only add a thin top as an under-jacket, or with dresses of any length to suit the context. Does it seem like something you’ve already seen? Then keep reading!
Speaking of knitwear, you will find many chic examples: oversized sweaters, dresses, maxi cardigans, knit top and bottom sets (those from Pinko, Twinset and Patrizia Pepe are perfect!), also embellished with embroidery or crystals. These are perfect pieces for Christmas dinners or lunches with family, but also for outings in elegant venues without too much formality. Pair with heeled boots or simple pumps, to continue the trend of a comfortable, feminine look but without too many excesses: save those for New Year’s Eve!
A way to combine knitwear that isn’t “more” knitwear? Pair a nice knit top with a midi satin skirt, or even a tulle skirt, with flowing or airy volumes, whether tone on tone or with surprising color contrasts: the difference in materials will give your outfit a note of novelty, and a fashionable but always relaxed femininity, also suitable for a dinner out.
Sequins, glitter, and other sparkling details? Yes, in moderation: introduce light into your looks without resorting to full sequins, which are better for when the evening calls for a black tie dresscode, a red carpet, or a gala event. If you stay in the “Christmas with your family” mood, opt for small embroidery, jewelry, jewel belts, and the like.
Christmas look ideas based on occasions
But now enough talk: let’s move on to outfits for different occasions.
-
Christmas Eve with family: warmth, comfort, and a festive touch. Use the idea we talked about earlier, of the knit top with miniskirt, and choose warm fabrics like tweed. Also, if you love oversized pieces, it could be the time for a maxi cardigan over a silk top and simple trousers. Color? For a warm palette, taupe, chocolate, and beige. If you love traditional colors, choose a knit dress (but also velvet or chenille) midi in white or red and pair with a medium-heeled ankle boot and light gold accessories. Last but trendy? Brown trousers (chocolate or coffee), with cream, white, warm pink, or burgundy top for a true fashionista result.

-
Christmas lunch, at home or at a restaurant: daytime elegance, less “Christmassy” than Christmas Eve. For lunch, we imagine a different palette and more polished/less comfy outfits. Free rein to palazzo or straight trousers that give monumentality to the silhouette, to be paired with a more sophisticated one-shoulder top or a structured body. If the trousers are simple, dare with the top: for example, a top with lurex or microsequins in champagne color paired with butter-colored trousers and elegant loafers. We also like pleated dresses, with boots and clutch in tone for a monochromatic and classy look. Are you a blazer type? Wear one over a slip dress in light tones, or again over a basic top and classic trousers. Zero formality, a younger mood? Then also go with straight or palazzo jeans (no skinny or destroyed: you risk being out of fashion as well as out of context).
- Company Christmas dinner: impeccable as at the office, but in a glamorous key. A long jumpsuit or a midi dress – in both cases, browse Elisabetta Franchi! – to complete with elegant boots or thin sandals, with the glamorous touch of a faux fur jacket as outerwear or a blazer on the shoulders. Or, it could be the time to wear your beautiful satin skirt, in light tones with a thin black or dark gray top or, also in this case, color block in dark colors (midnight blue, black).
