From the Celin B brand to the logo we all know today, Elisabetta Franchi has realized not only her dream but also that of many fashion enthusiasts who have found a new style in her brand: a story of passion, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit that has made EF known worldwide.
Elisabetta Franchi designer: the beginning
The origins of Elisabetta Franchi are anything but stellar: she is a true "self made woman." She was born in Bologna in 1968 to a family of humble background but, despite many difficulties, her determination and passion help her complete her studies, define her dream and get closer to it.
She soon enters the world of fashion, initially as a sales assistant. This experience will also be useful to her: it will be the starting point to understand the needs and tastes of customers, to study the latest trends.
In 1996, with the opening of a small atelier together with five collaborators, Elisabetta Franchi creates her first garments. Two years later, Betty Blue S.p.a. was born, thanks to which she produces the CELYN B collection. What does the B stand for? For "Betta", naturally, her nickname!
From the atelier to the Elisabetta Franchi company
The next step is the purchase of an old pharmaceutical company to establish the Maison's headquarters: it is 2006.
Elisabetta Franchi tells Vanity Fair: "I put my name, my face, my life. I put everything, I put the essence of my being. I believe that today the world wants to know who is behind a dress, what thoughts, what projects. And I do not hide."
Elisabetta Franchi, in fact, will ultimately put her own name on it: since 2012 she has been signing her garments, giving life to her eponymous brand.
In 2013, finally, she is in Milan to celebrate the opening, in the Italian city dedicated to fashion, of the first of many Elisabetta Franchi showrooms.

Very active on social channels, where through stories she shares the daily life not only of her company but also of her life as a woman, mother, wife, and entrepreneur, her presence also begins to become televisual. An example is the documentary aired on Real Time produced for Discovery Italia titled “Essere Elisabetta”, which talks about memories and emotions, from the beginning of her career to success. It is the story of a dream coming true: if her admirers are used to the great communicativeness of Elisabetta Franchi, thanks to the way she makes them (us) involved through social media (just search Elisabetta Franchi on Instagram to get an idea!), Essere Elisabetta makes her even more real and close, presenting her as a model of what a woman can achieve and be today.
Love for animals
Can a major fashion brand find a compromise with its designer's love for animals? Furs, shoes, bags: Elisabetta Franchi is a cruelty free brand. Her attention to the animal world is not only evident in this choice. Her beloved dogs (many at home and many in the company!) are with her protagonists of the current collection, represented in cute prints or sequin embroideries on dresses and t-shirts!

The Elisabetta Franchi spring summer 2023 season moves forward lightly with its vacation style designed to make you travel inside your wardrobe and take you to South America. Your days are flooded with Argentine lace and tribal prints from the pampas, an inspiration that overwhelms all clothing and accessories, with fringes, chains and aged gold, raffia sandals and themed prints that you will also find in Elisabetta Franchi cocktail or ceremony dresses.
