Outfits for every silhouette - Part 1

If you keep looking at your closet and thinking that you have nothing to wear, you are most likely:

  • With an age ranging from adolescence upwards
  • A woman who loves shopping for whom any excuse is a good one
  • A woman who does something wrong when shopping.

If the cause is the third one, we have to give you a little stick. If it is true that taste in clothing is totally personal and you don't need to keep up with trends to feel at ease... it is also true that every silhouette has its favorite items and perhaps if you don't see yourself well in the mirror with what you already have in your wardrobe is because you bought something that doesn't value you enough.

Do you need some tricks? We'll take care of it. The next sales, after all, are close: you could start compiling your wishlist in a more conscious way and be even more satisfied when your Khloè package arrives.

How to find the right garment for every body type

Assumption number 1: every body is beautiful, and if you discover how to enhance it, there is no size that matters.

Assumption number 2: enhancing strong points and hiding critical points is simpler than you might imagine. It's about playing with clothing and the optical effects that the right garments can create, and it's really simple. So,  pay attention to colours, prints, applications, volumes and, last but not least, accessories.

With this type of physicality we mean those bodies that tend to have hips and a more prominent side compared to a lean torso and narrow shoulders.

Magic wand in hand, cast your spell on your outfit. Do you want to better balance the figure?

Let's start by organizing the colors. Eliminate bright prints and bright, light colors from the bottom part, placing them on the top of your clothing. Underneath, however, wear dark colors and prefer solid colors and absolutely avoid any type of decoration (sequins, patches, embroidery, large pockets) on the hips.

The advantage to exploit: the waistline. Those with a "pear" physique tend to have a narrow waist.

So, green light to high-waisted pants with wide cuts , palazzo or flared design that restores balance along the leg. No to pants with a low waist in sight and no to a very fearsome combo: low-waisted shorts! It would be like wearing a neon sign that tells everyone "Look here: I have important hips".

Also avoid shirts with a cut below the bust, which widen right towards the hips without marking the waistline.

Gonna time? Know that they are the garments that, if well chosen, enhance you the most. Choose high-waisted skirts that do not hug the thighs (except for mini ones, see later), avoiding for example tulip-shaped models which tend to emphasize the volume of the hips and butt, and preferring flared models , longuette, pleated. And the miniskirt? Yes, high-waisted, and take note of yet another trick: dark tights, pointed shoes of the same shade help you to optically lengthen your legs.

Do you want to continue to shift the attention of those looking upwards? Abundant earrings, necklaces on the décolleté, scarves: concentrate your accessories (but without excess) from the bust up.

We are faced with a physique that has inverse proportions compared to the previous one: thin legs and a not very pronounced waist. So what can we do to direct the gaze of others?

Also in this case we start from the colors, which must be reversed compared to what was said previously. That is: light colours, prints and bright fabrics (lurex, sequins, laminates, leather effect) should be worn on the lower part. The upper part, however, must be helped to rebalance with dark or pale colors, which suggest thinning, with cuts below the waist and v-necklines that create a vertical (and therefore slimming) direction.

What else can help direct your gaze? Breast pockets (example, for shirts), boat neckline that focuses the lens on the shoulders or cascade/bowl neckline.

Let's start by highlighting our strong points. Do we have these beautiful tapered legs? Then let's bring the attention there. Yes to tight pants , from the classic cigarette to the skinny, leggings included. Avoid, however, wide pants that add volume, optically prolonging the volume already present at the waistline.

As for clothes, prefer models that are not tight or tight at the waist, but rather with A-shaped designs that highlight the breasts (which tend to be generous in these body types) and slide softly over the stomach and hips . Even better if with a short cut or at most knee-length: it once again shows off the legs and their thinness, optically rebalancing the silhouette.

Another trick:  no to bulky and voluminous footwear that make the leg look tapered or exaggeratedly thin;  yes to boots, oxfords, heels.

In winter, both on dresses and separate outfits, you will have an extra ally: a cardigan that you can wear softly down to your hips, leveling out your shape (and keeping you warm, which is not to be underestimated). For other moments of the year, however, tailored jackets and blazers come to your aid.
